Baked Apples or Pears

What you need

  • Apples or pears 2 ripe.
  • Fruit mince (as for Christmas mince pies) ½ cup.
  • Oranges 2, juiced.
  • Honey 1 tablespoon

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 45 - 60 minutes


  • Preheat oven to 200°C.
  • Cut fruit in half lengthwise and cut out the cores. Place in a shallow ovenproof dish.
  • Divide fruit mince evenly between the halves.
  • Combine orange juice and honey in a jug.
  • Pour some over the apples and the rest into the dish.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for around 45 minutes or until the pears are soft and sticky (the riper the pears, the less time this will take).
  • Serve with the syrup and yoghurt.
